For many of us, the parade is the highlight of Pride, and an important day where our freedom and fight for rights are celebrated!

Pride parades are a political statement that both celebrates the diversity of society and the right to love who you love and be who you are. Since the Stonewall riots in 1969, considered the start of the modern queer rights movement, Pride parades have spread around the world, moving millions of people through thousands of cities worldwide today.

Parades create international unity, provide a sense of belonging, honor the history of the queer rights movement, and highlight the ongoing struggles in today’s society!

Pride parades move millions of people through thousands of cities all over the world, and most of the events take place around June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, a pivotal moment in modern LGBTQ social movements.
