Nå deler hun tiden sin mellom Australia og Storbritannia, og Dolly er helt begeistret for å vende tilbake til Bergen for å opptre under Regnbuedagene. Som ambassadør for Guide Dogs Australia, Movember og LGBTQ Domestic Violence Foundation, er Dolly like engasjert utenfor scenen som hun er fengslende på den. Hun var kunstnerisk leder for Melbourne Cabaret Festival i 2017 og 2018, og har hatt en rekke suksessrike cabaret-sesonger over hele Australia, med opptredener på festivaler som Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Fringe World Perth, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Midsumma Festival, FEAST Festival og Broken Heel Festival.

I 2022 og 2023 opptrådte Dolly som en del av House of Oz-programmet under Edinburgh Fringe, sammen med sitt suksesshow Dolly Diamond’s Rather Large Variety Night på Just the Tonic. I 2024 vendte hun tilbake til Edinburgh Fringe med sitt kritikerroste nye show The Unburdening of Dolly Diamond, presentert av Assembly og House of Oz. I år kommer Dolly til Bergen Pride før en tre måneder lang turné i Storbritannia og Europa.

Dolly is a much-loved personality, originally from the UK and proudly calling Australia home since 2009. Now splitting her time between Australia and the UK, Dolly is absolutely thrilled to be returning to Bergen to perform at Bergen Pride. Get ready for an unforgettable evening as the glamorous, razor-sharp and outrageously funny Dolly Diamond takes to the stage at Pride House!

An ambassador for Guide Dogs Australia, Movember, and the LGBTQ Domestic Violence Foundation, Dolly is as passionate offstage as she is captivating on it. She served as Artistic Director of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival in 2017 and 2018, and has enjoyed numerous successful cabaret seasons across Australia, appearing at festivals including Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Fringe World Perth, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Midsumma Festival, FEAST Festival, and Broken Heel Festival.

In 2022 and 2023, Dolly performed as part of the House of Oz lineup at the Edinburgh Fringe, alongside her hit show Dolly Diamond’s Rather Large Variety Night at Just the Tonic. In 2024, she returned to Edinburgh Fringe with her acclaimed new show The Unburdening of Dolly Diamond, presented by Assembly and House of Oz. This year Dolly joins us at Bergen Pride ahead of a 3 month tour throughout the U.K and Europe.

10s Across the Borders is a hybrid dance film and observational documentary following the three trailblazers in the underground ballroom scenes of Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. We witness their journeys as they hold on to both their ballroom and birth families, connect with the subculture’s origins in New York City, and build a flourishing queer community across Southeast Asia.

SYNOPSIS
If the world doesn’t accept you and your kind, trailblaze a world that does. Inspired by the Black and Latinx underground Ballroom culture of New York, Sun, Teddy, and Xyza create Ballroom communities in Southeast Asia as safe havens from homophobia, transphobia, color discrimination and HIV stigma.
In Malaysia, Teddy runs away from his father’s violence and fights for his right to be himself in a deeply homophobic country. Meanwhile, he still hungers for a father’s love, and Ballroom is the place to seek out a new father.
Filipina Xyza dreams of being a model but is told that it is impossible because of her dark skin. In international Ballroom communities she finally finds her confidence. She comes home with a fire to build a community across the Philippines where everyone can feel beautiful and loved, regardless of color, sexuality and gender identity.
In Thailand, Ballroom is what helps Sun to make sense of his complex history as the queer mixed- race child of a sex worker, and of his fractured biological and foster families in Thailand and Norway. Buddhism and Ballroom merge in Sun’s creative language as a performance artist, as he speaks up to honor the lives of his sex worker mother, transwomen, and others whose voices are rarely heard.
